Genome-Wide Association Study Detects Loci Involved in Scab Susceptibility in Japanese Apricot

چکیده
Japanese apricot (Prunus mume) is an important fruit tree in East Asia. ‘Nanko’, the primary cultivar of apricots, usually suffers from scab, a disease caused by Venturia carpophila. However, there have been few reports on phenotypic variation scab resistance/susceptibility and underlying genetic factors. In this study, we investigated severity naturally occurring scabs based lesions 108 accessions over four consecutive years. each year, both resistant susceptible were observed, significant annual correlations detected among ratios diseased fruits (Rt; 0.52–0.76) indices (Sv; 0.55–0.79). We also conducted genome-wide association study (GWAS) exon-targeted resequencing, peaks data 2017 2018. The candidate genes involved resistance are located near nine single-nucleotide polymorphisms. These may be associated with susceptibility ‘Nanko’ lineages to scab. findings shed light profiles P. mume will assist future breeding programs improving resistance.

Unveiling the genetic loci for a panicle developmental trait using genome-wide association study in rice
Panicle size has a high correlation with grain yield in rice. There is a bottleneck to identify the additional quantitative trait loci (QTL) for panicle size due to the conventional traits used for QTL mapping. To identify more genetic loci for panicle size, a panicle developmental trait (LNTB, the length from panicle neck-knot to the first primary branch in the rachis) related to panicle size ...
متن کاملGenome-wide association study identifies new prostate cancer susceptibility loci.
Prostate cancer (PrCa) is the most common non-skin cancer diagnosed among males in developed countries and the second leading cause of cancer mortality, yet little is known regarding its etiology and factors that influence clinical outcome. Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) of PrCa have identified at least 30 distinct loci associated with small differences in risk. We conducted a GWAS in 2...

BACKGROUND Cervical carcinoma has a heritable genetic component, but the genetic basis of cervical cancer is still not well understood. METHODS We performed a genome-wide association study of 731 422 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in 1075 cervical cancer case subjects and 4014 control subjects and replicated it in 1140 case subjects and 1058 control subjects. The association between t...
متن کاملGenome-wide association study identifies multiple susceptibility loci for glioma
Previous genome-wide association studies (GWASs) have shown that common genetic variation contributes to the heritable risk of glioma. To identify new glioma susceptibility loci, we conducted a meta-analysis of four GWAS (totalling 4,147 cases and 7,435 controls), with imputation using 1000 Genomes and UK10K Project data as reference. After genotyping an additional 1,490 cases and 1,723 control...
متن کاملGenome Wide Association Identifies Novel Loci Involved in Fungal Communication
Understanding how genomes encode complex cellular and organismal behaviors has become the outstanding challenge of modern genetics. Unlike classical screening methods, analysis of genetic variation that occurs naturally in wild populations can enable rapid, genome-scale mapping of genotype to phenotype with a medium-throughput experimental design. Here we describe the results of the first genom...
